State of War MOD: Text-Based Strategy Game

Game Concept:
A turn-based strategy game where two players command opposing armies. Players take turns attacking each other's bases, managing resources, and deploying units to achieve victory.


Core Features:

  1. Base Health System

    • Each player starts with a base (1000 HP).
    • Attacks reduce opponent's base health.
    • Win Condition: Reduce enemy base to 0 HP.
  2. Turn-Based Combat

    • Players alternate turns.
    • Each turn allows:
      • Attack: Deal 50–150 damage to enemy base.
      • Reinforce: Heal own base by 20–50 HP (costs 100 resources).
      • Deploy Unit: Spend resources to spawn units (see below).
  3. Resource Management

    • Resources: Start with 500, gain 100 per turn.
    • Unit Costs:
      • Infantry: 50 resources (deals 20–40 damage per attack).
      • Tank: 200 resources (deals 50–100 damage).
      • Artillery: 300 resources (deals 100–200 damage, 2-turn cooldown).
  4. Unit System

    • Units attack automatically each turn after deployment.
    • Units have health and can be destroyed by enemy attacks.
    • Unit Types:

Game Flow:

  1. Setup Phase

    • Player 1 and Player 2 choose names.
    • Bases and resources initialized.
  2. Turn Sequence

    - Resources: 500
    - Base Health: 1000
    - Units: None
    Actions:
      1. Attack (free)
      2. Reinforce (cost: 100 resources)
      3. Deploy Unit (select type)
      4. End Turn
    [Player 2's Turn]
    (Repeat until victory)
  3. Combat Mechanics

    • Direct Attack: Random damage (50–150) to enemy base.
    • Unit Attacks:
      • All units attack simultaneously at the end of the turn.
      • Enemy units counter-attack if they survive.
    • Unit Damage:
      • Units take damage equal to the enemy's total attack output.
      • Destroyed units are removed.
  4. Victory Conditions

    State of War MOD

    • Enemy base reaches 0 HP.
    • Enemy cannot afford actions (resources depleted + base destroyed).

Advanced Mechanics (MOD Features):

  1. Terrain Bonuses

    • Forest: Units take 20% less damage.
    • Hills: Artillery damage +30%.
    • Plains: No bonus/penalty.
  2. Special Abilities (Unlock at 1000 total resources spent):

    • Barrage: Deal 200 damage (cooldown: 3 turns).
    • Fortify: Base heals 100 HP (cooldown: 4 turns).
    • Sabotage: Destroy one random enemy unit.
  3. Dynamic Events

    • Random events each turn:
      • "Reinforcements arrive": +200 resources.
      • "Supply raid": Steal 50–150 enemy resources.
      • "Disease": All units lose 20% HP.

Game Over Screen:

VICTORY!
Player 1 defeats Player 2!
Final Stats:
- Turns: 12
- Resources Spent: 1500
- Units Deployed: 5
- Damage Dealt: 1200

How to Play:

  1. Players take turns selecting actions.
  2. Balance aggression (attacks) with defense (reinforcements/units).
  3. Manage resources to deploy powerful units.
  4. Use terrain and abilities strategically.
  5. Adapt to random events to gain advantages.
